Josef Marks Obituary

ATLANTA - Josef Marks, of Binghamton, NY and Boynton Beach, FL passed away Saturday, February 10th in Atlanta, GA. He was predeceased by his wife and lifelong love, Bonnie Marks, parents, Norman and Shirley Marks and his son-in-law, Robert Weisbrot. He is survived by his children Jeffrey (Judy) Marks of Atlanta, GA and Cheryl Weisbrot of Hardeeville, SC, his granddaughter Sasha Marks of Amsterdam, Netherlands, and his brother, Jonathan Marks. Joe founded and owned the Marks Insurance Agency for many decades until retiring to Florida with Bonnie for thirty years where he played golf, including being Club champion, was an avid bridge player and enjoyed an active social life with Bonnie and their many friends. Joe was past President of Temple Concord and the Temple Concord Foundation. Joe graduated from Harpur College, was a proud member of the Binghamton University Forum, and received his MBA from Syracuse University. He served as a Lieutenant in the Navy and was a Master Mason. He was a passionate builder including being an active participant in building his own boat, building of his homes, and building his business. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Graveside services will be held at the Temple Israel-Riverside Cemetery in Conklin, NY on Wednesday, February 14th at 9:00am. In lieu of flowers, those wishing may make donations in memory of Joe to a charity of your choice
