Ferne Gloria Brown Weintraub was born June 29th, 1935, to Isador and Elizabeth Brown in Brooklyn NY. She attended the University of Alabama for two years. She met her loving husband Robert in Binghamton while attending a party with her cousins. They got married in August of 1955 and were blessed with three children: Rosalyn, David, and Todd. Together, Ferne and Bob helped found Hillel Academy of Broome County while she was pregnant with her youngest son Todd. Ferne was involved in Girl Scouts and Cub Scouts. Ferne fought the good fight and finally transformed into a beautiful butterfly. She is already enjoying new adventures with her husband Robert, as well as many other friends, family, and pets whom she has missed for so long. Ferne was lovingly escorted to begin these new adventures on October 30th by her loving children Ros, David and Todd (Debbie); her brother Jared; sister Jo Ann; her loving grandchildren Nicole and Joshua; her sweet, adoring pup Cocoa and a few close friends. She will enjoy the freedom of being pain free for the first time in many years as she enjoys the feeling of a light breeze and the delightful scent of flowers, especially lilies of the valley and African violets, which Robert grew for her. Ferne is survived by her children Ros, David, and Todd (Debbie); her grandchildren Nicole and Joshua; her brother Jared Brown and her sister Jo Ann Drucker, and many cousins. Ferne was loved by many and will be missed. Graveside Services will be held tomorrow at 10:00 am at Temple Israel Riverside Cemetery, Conklin, NY.
