Henry S. Gagliardi, 87, succumbed to his long battle with Parkinson’s disease on Sunday October 17, 2010 in Endicott, NY.   He was predeceased by his wife, Jane Strong Gagliardi, his parents John and Laura (Ritz) Gagliardi, and his brothers Albert, Joseph and John. Henry  is survived by his loving sons and daughter-in-laws Paul & Martha Gagliardi and David & Maggie Gagliardi; his grandchildren,  Gigi & Matthew Cerio, Jason & Amy (Karastury)  Gagliardi, Heather Fish, John & Tracey Fish, Angee Gagliardi & Johann Giraldo;  his great-grandchildren  Asher Gagliardi, Justin Fish, Anthony Cerio, Benjamin Cerio, Cameron Fish, Elizabeth Cerio. He was also survived by sister-in-laws Karen Gagliardi, Athena Gagliardi, Stella Gagliardi, and brother and sister-in-law Bob and Ann Strong and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Henry was born to John and Laura on June 2, 1923 in Lockport, NY. He graduated from Lockport High School in June of 1941. He joined the US Army on March 31, 1943 to serve his country during World War II where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was honorably discharged on January 26, 1946. He married the love of his life, Jane Strong, on July 12, 1947. He graduated from St. Bonventure College in May of 1949 with a degree in Business Administration. He went to work for Public Loan in June of 1949. He retired from Public Loan as a vice-president in June of 1988. He was a member of the Binghamton Country Club and Post 1700 in Endicott, NY.   He loved to spend time with his family and friends, traveling, playing golf, fishing and routing loudly for the Yankees, Notre Dame Football, and Buffalo Sabre hockey. After retirement, he spent his winters in Florida playing cards and golf with his brother.
In Lieu of flowers the family requests that you make a donation to the Parkinson’s Foundation in Henry’s name.
Relatives and friends may join the immediate family in a graveside service on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at noon at the Wright’s Corner Cemetery.
