Judith C. Lawrence, formerly of Binghamton, NY, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 25th, 2017 at her home on Seneca Lake, NY. Judy was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Ronald G. Lawrence, and her parents, Edna (nee Parsons) and Harold Latham. She is survived by her two daughters, Kristine Lawrence of Rochester, NY; and Kimberly Miller and her husband Robert of Penn Yan, NY, with whom she happily lived during her final years. She is also survived by two granddaughters, Kaitlyn Pappas of Swarthmore, PA, and Marissa Pappas of Penn Yan, NY; and two step-grandsons, Kevin Miller of Florida, NY, and Kelson Miller of Montgomery, NY.

Judy was born on October 16, 1942 in Binghamton, and graduated from Binghamton Central High School. She was employed as a bookkeeper for many years in various businesses in New York and New Jersey. She also sold Avon and life insurance for brief periods of time. She was an active member of the American Business Women's Association in the 1980's. She was a longtime and dedicated member of High Street United Methodist Church, and later, Endwell United Methodist Church.

Judy was a loving daughter, mother and spouse who always strove to make holidays and birthdays special for her family. She had a beautiful laugh which she readily and easily shared with all. She was a craftswoman throughout her life, mastering flower arranging, crocheting, and knitting. In her younger years, Judy baked and gave away thousands of Christmas cookies and other treats to friends and family. She was a dog-lover, who, with her husband, rescued several poodles, some with very challenging medical issues. She enjoyed being near the water, whether the ocean, the Hudson River, or any lake, particularly Seneca Lake and Lake Ontario. She loved gardening and flowers, and had an incredible eye for picking out the perfect plant, always finding the perfect place for each one. Judy's greatest joy was her grandchildren, and she took great delight and pride in watching them grow up to become amazing people. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A brief service will be held at the Tower of Memories in Vestal Hills Memorial Park, Vestal, NY on Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11am.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Dresden Volunteer Fire Company (1 Firehouse Ave, Dresden, NY 14441), whose loving attentiveness to her daughter and son-in-law at the time of her passing was immeasurable.
