Joan L. Hunt, 82, passed away unexpectedly Friday, July 25, 2014 after a long and fruitful life. She was predeceased by her beloved husband John, in 1988, and her parents Mason and Theresa Lowell. She is survived by her two daughters, Colette Baker, her husband Martin, Frederick MD; Carin Palmer, her friend Billy Himko, Johnson City; and by her son Chip Hunt, his wife Sally, Binghamton NY; eight grandchildren Ryan Baker, his wife Lauren, and great grandson Bennett, Frederick, MD; Chris Baker, his wife Megan, and great granddaughter Addison, Frederick MD; Matthew and Bryon Palmer, Johnson City, NY, Tiffany Palmer, her fiancé Brian Kotsubka, Owego, NY; CJ, Tom, and John Hunt, Binghamton, NY. Joan was a graduate of Binghamton High School and graduated with Honors from Penn Hall Jr. College, Chambersburg, PA. She was a past member of the Binghamton Junior League. Joan was in the antiques business for over 42 years with her late husband John, and most recently as a business partner with her son Chip, operating Midtown Antiques, at 34 Chenango Street, Binghamton. She spent 70 wonderful summers at Heart Lake, PA with family and friends. Joan also enjoyed traveling and taking several cruises with her late husband John.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m., at The Parish of Saints John and Andrew Church, 1263 Vestal Ave, Binghamton. Burial will follow the funeral services at Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott, NY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home, 71 Main Street, Binghamton, and also on Friday morning at the Parish of Saints John and Andrew, Binghamton, NY, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O Box 417005 Boston, Mass. 02241-7005.
