David Zodikoff, 77, of Binghamton passed away Tuesday November 2, 2010 at his home.
Born March 31st, 1933 in Binghamton, NY the son of the Late Ellen (Myer) and Jacob Zodikoff and loving husband of 53 years of Christina (Golashevski) Zodikoff.
Mr. Zodikoff served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. David was a 1957 graduate of Cortland where he earned his BA degree, Columbia University where he earned MA degree and Syracuse University where he earned his PHD. David had taught undergraduates and graduate level courses in education for over twenty two years at SUNY Cortland, also concurrently for ten years he taught at Cortland’s Mohawk Valley Graduate Center at the State University of Technology in Utica . His biography is listed in two editions of Who’s Who in the East, leaders in Education, Contemporary Authors, and a regional Who’s Who in America. David had served as an officer of Phi Delta Kappa, a national organization for teachers, served as a member of the New York State Teachers Association, National Council of Social Studies, American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education, the American Association of University Professors, a past President of B’Nai B’rith International in Cortland, NY and a published author of numerous education articles and books.
Surviving David are his wife Christina (Golashevski) Zodikoff, his daughter Michele (Joseph) McCann, of Owego, his three grandchildren, Erin Milefski, Margo Zodikoff Sean McCann and his great granddaughter Brielle Milefski. David’s’ brother Benjamin (Sandra) Zodikoff of Albany, NY and his sister Lillian Zodikoff of Vestal survive him as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends Friday November 5th from 10: 00 to 11:00 am at Temple Concorde 9 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY . A Funeral Service will be officiated by Rabbi Barbara Goldman-Wartell at 11:00 am at the Temple. Internment will follow at Temple Israel- Riverside Cemetery in Conklin. Those wishing may consider memorial donations in David’s’ name to Lourdes Hospice 169 Riverside Drive Binghamton NY 13905. Arrangements are with the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home 71 Main Street Binghamton.
