Donald H. Finch

Donald H. Finch, 87, of Endwell died December 20, 2012. He was the son of the late Louise (Dedrick) and Judson Finch, and loving husband of the late Jean M. Finch.

Don graduated from Johnson City High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II in India, Burma, and China. He worked for IBM for 37 years and was a member of the Quarter Century Club. Don was also a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church of Johnson City.

Surviving Don are his children Judy Finch, James Finch, Joan (Terry) Purtell, Mark (Jean) Finch, and Bill (Joanne) Finch; grandchildren Daniel Purtell (Serena), Brian Purtell (Katherine), Andrew Finch, Rachel Garrison, Jesse Finch, Stephanie (Charles) Bailey, Christopher Doyle, Joshua Wilce, Laura (Mark) Stewart, Julie (Christopher) Pieri, and David (Susan) Burgett; great grandchildren Madeline and Aiden Finch, Haley Garrison, Finn Smith, Anna Finch, Andrew and Beth Stewart, Sean Estes, Nikki and Alex Pieri, and Emmerson and Kaden Burgett. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Ernestyne Cafferty, very special companion Virginia Jones, his long-time golf buddy and friend Bob Irwin, his friend from the ACRC, Steven Pitkor, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, December 26 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home, 71 Main Street, Binghamton, NY. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27, at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home; Reverend Robert T. Peak officiating. Internment will follow at Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
