Dorothy Mae Seiber
Aunt Dorothy passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ, on Sunday, August 26th at the age of 94. She was the last surviving
sibling of ten children. She will be remembered for her strong love of her
Lord and her Christian faith. She was a member of Main Street Baptist
Church for over 71 years. Dorothy was proud of her ability to whistle, and
received a commendation from the Mayor for whistling as a member of First
Ward Senior Citizens. Dorothy was employed by Binghamton General Hospital
for 28 years. "Aunt Dof", as she was known by some, was predeceased by the
dearest husband in the world, Harvey A. Seiber. He was her life, and if you
saw one of them, you saw the other. She was also predeceased by her parents
William and Grace (Cook) Stephens. Her other predeceased siblings were
Gladys Stephens, Eleanor Converse Fisher (James), Mary Linkroum (Harold),
Mildred Strosahl (Bernard), Maude Stephens (died of TB in 1941), Marjorie (stillborn)and
brothers Kermit (Josephine), Edward (Wanda), and William (Gladys) Stephens.
Dorothy also leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews, and held a special
place in her heart for her great nephew Nick Millard. The family would like
to express their heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding people at
Susquehanna Nursing Home for their care of Dorothy these last few years. In
lieu of flowers, please donate to Main St. Baptist Church at 117 Main St,
Binghamton, NY 13905 and notate "Handicapped Ramp Project".
Funeral services will be Friday, August 31st at 11:00 A.M. at the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home, 71 Main Street, Binghamton NY.
