Eleanor (Dermer) Aronson

Eleanor Aronson, 93, of Vestal NY, formally of the Bronx, NY, passed away Sunday January 12, 2014 after a courageous and determined fight.  The way she combated her illness was consistent with how her life was lived.

Eleanor was a wonderful, compassionate and feisty lady, with a quick wit, and unmatched sense of humor.  She set a wonderful example of how to conduct life, which was admired greatly by friends and family. She retired after 35 years as an employee of New York City Health and Hospital Corporation

She was predeceased by her parents Hyman and Clara Dermer, her husband Samuel (Richard), son Jeffrey and brother Leonard.  She is survived by her loving family, Hayes her son, Naomi her daughter in law, and her grandchildren Helene, Kerri and Christopher.  Also survived by her sister- in- law Harriet,  her nieces Denise and Sue, nephew Steve and their families.
Not a day went by when she was not giving her love, support and encouragement to all of us.

Many thanks to her special friends Sue Lee and Pat Kuric, for all the countless hours of friendship and support.  Your devotion to Eleanor and us means more than any words could say.

Funeral services will be at Temple Concord, 9 Riverside, Binghamton NY on January 14,2014 at 9:30 am, with Rabbi Barbara Goldman-Wartell officiating.  The family will receive friends in the library from 9:00 to 9:30 am.  Eleanor will be laid to rest next to her husband and son at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge NJ on Tuesday at 2:30 pm.
