Of Binghamton

Eugene Urda, 83, fell asleep with the Lord on a beautiful sunny morning Tuesday May 29, 2012. He has now joined his bride Marion in eternal peace and happiness.
Eugene is survived by 4 sons, David & Carol of Bettendorf Iowa, Michael & Susan of Binghamton, Chris & Cathy of Chesterfield VA, Eugene & Terri of Binghamton, and 2 daughters, Julie & Chet Lowrie of Johnson City and Mary & Joe Croft of Simpsonville SC

Eugene was especially proud of his grandchildren, Tommy McNamara, Carolyn & Steve D’Angenio, Joe Urda, Bobby & Lisa Urda, Matt & Beth & Ryan Lowrie, Audrey, Jared and Jake Urda & Fiance Sara, Luke, Rachael & Harley Iversen, Rebecca & Keith Zonts, Hannah, Sara, and Abby Croft, Nick, Jason and Maria Urda.
Eugene, who was born in Jermyn PA, also is survived by his brother Bill and his sister Florence & Sam Zilinski. His parents, William and Eva, along with brother Andy, predeceased him.

Eugene was an Army Veteran who served his country in the Philippines during World Post War  2. Eugene spent his work life as a hard working construction contractor, building dreams for many people. Eugene loved his wife and family and was a devoted husband and father. Together with his wife Marion, they leave behind a closely knit family that radiates with love for each other.

Eugene loved hunting and fishing, New York Giants Football, and his Binghamton Mets. He was part of the parish family at Holy Spirit Church. The Urda family would like to express a special thanks to the good people of Willowpoint Nursing Home, who cared for both Eugene and his wife, Marion, during their last few years.

Eugene would want to say goodbye to all of his friends and family and he asks that you treasure and cherish your lives and love each other in his memory.

Funeral Services will be held Friday at 9:00 am at the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home 71 Main Street and 10:00 am at Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to call Thursday Evening from 4:00pm to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.Parastas will be offered at 6:00 pm Thursday Evening  Internment will follow at Holy Spirit Cemetery.
