George Behanick, 91, of Binghamton passed away Thursday August, 25, 2011, at his home.
Born March 5, 1920, in Binghamton, NY the son of the late Thomas and Mary (Ruskinovich) Behanick and loving husband of sixty two years of Mildred (Pidypchak) Behanick.
George was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II serving as a Corporal.
He was a member of Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church, served as a church trustee for many years, and a member of the Holy Name Society. He retired after over twenty years from the G.A.F. Corporation in Binghamton where he worked as a stock clerk. George was also an avid NY Yankee Fan.
Surviving George are his loving wife Mildred at home, his sister Josie Dougher, of CA. and his brother, John Behanick, of Binghamton. Also several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Monday August, 29 at 9:30 a.m. at the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home, Inc. 71 Main Street, Binghamton and at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church where the Reverend Peter Tomas will celebrate The Divine Liturgy. Burial will be in Holy Spirit Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 4:L00 to 6:00 p.m. Father Peter will conduct Parastas at 5:00 p.m..
