Helen Herman
of Binghamton
Helen Herman, of Binghamton passed away Friday December 20, 2012 peacefully at her home.
Born November 11, 1920 in Binghamton, NY, the daughter of the late William and Susan (Gajdos) Herman. Helen was also predeceased by her brothers, Michael, Peter and John and her sisters, Florence and Mary (Charles N.) Pollak.
Helen was a proud, independent, caring and energetic person who loved living, her brothers and sisters and taking care of everything herself without asking for anything. She enjoyed driving her car, the dollar stores, candy and sweets, knick-knacks and late-night phone calls from her nephews. Helen was a lifelong resident of Binghamton and a member of Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church. She was proud to have worked as a keypunch operator for the I.B.M. Corporation for over forty years starting there in 1941.
Helen is survived by her brother; William (Geraldine) Herman, Johnson City, and her sisters-in-law Margaret Herman of Apalachin and Anne Herman of Vestal as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday December 27 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home 71 Main Street, Binghamton, NY. Father Peter Tomas will officiate. Internment will follow at Holy Spirit Cemetery, Kattelville. Please visit ParsonsFuneral.Com to offer your condolences.
