Jacob Cohen, 91, loving husband, father, and grandfather died on Saturday September 1, 2012 after a long and happy life.
Born April 26, 1921,in the Bronx, NY, the son of the Late Fannie and Max Cohen. He was also predeceased by his son in law, Alfred and his brother Harry.
Jacob was a strong, caring man whose family always came first. He loved the arts, classical music , the Metropolitan Opera, and plays. Jacob was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army seeing action during World War II. He was a long time member of Temple Israel in Vestal, NY. Jacob worked for many years as a salesman for the Prudential Life Insurance Company.
Surviving Jacob are his loving wife of 59 years, Thelma Betty Cohen: his children, Karen Klein, Ilene Cohen, and Alan Cohen, daughter in law Kathleen Cohen; his brother Louis Cohen, his sister Beatrice Polsky and his beloved grandchildren; Sarah Emily (Ben), Joseph Max, Allison, Michael, Katie Drew and Ryan. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held Monday September 3, at 2:00 P.M. at Temple Israel 4737 Deerfield Place Vestal NY. Internment will follow at Temple Israel-Riverside Cemetery in Conklin.
