John L. Dromgoole

John Leo Dromgoole passed peacefully of natural causes on March 23, 2015 at the age of 88. He is survived by Theresa his wife of 54 years, sisters, Dorothy Judd and Jane Jones, and sons Gary and Douglas. He was predeceased by his parents Arthur and Catherine, brothers Barney, Harold, Bob, and Bill; sisters Chris Howell and Betty Sweezey.  

John was born July 12, 1926 in Sherburne NY.  A three sport athlete at Sherburne
HS '46, he enrolled in the Army Air Corps and was stationed in the Philippines
at the close of WWII.  He married the love of his life, Theresa, on May 7 1960
in Boston Mass.  He worked as a premium insurance auditor, residing in
Binghamton since the early 1960s.

A wonderful father and husband, John was active in the community: President of
the Nimmonsburg Youth Association, baseball coach, volunteer fireman, member of
the Town of Chenango planning commission, and involved with St. Christopher's
church.  He enjoyed entertaining, motorhome vacations with his family, watching
sports, and of course reading the newspaper.  

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to the Alzheimer's
Association, alz.org.

Visitation will be at 10:00am Tuesday 3/31 at St Francis of Assisi Church 1031
Chenango St. Binghamton NY.  Funeral service will follow at 11:00am.
