Joseph Brill Obituary

Joseph Paul Brill, of Binghamton

The son of the late Joseph and Catherine Brill he is survived by his loving wife Charlene, their son Joseph, and granddaughter Catherine Elisabeth Brill.  After graduating from Union Endicott High School, he attended Alfred University and was a member of the 1956 undefeated football team.  He was also Social Chairman of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity.  Upon graduation, he served 23 years in the US Army Reserves retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel.  While on active duty, he was stationed in Korea, Germany, Vietnam, and Panama.  His military awards include: Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Joint Services Commendation Medal, and The Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.  After leaving the Army, he was employed by the Defense Intelligence Agency where he served as a Program Manager.  He received seven Outstanding Performance Awards culminating in a DIA Meritorious Civilian Service Medal.  After retiring from DIA, he and Charlene returned to Binghamton, NY where he joined the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE) and served as the Legislative Officer for several years.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Wounded Warrior Project P.O.
