Joseph David Rappaport, of Binghamton, passed away Monday September 5th, 2011 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
Born August 16, 1917 in New York City, New York the son of the Late Eva (Issacson) and Harry Rappaport.
Joseph was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II He retired from Star Auto Parts. Inc. where he was a manager for over twenty years. Joseph was a member of Temple Israel. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, his family was his greatest joy. Joseph was also an avid Yankee Fan.
Surviving Joseph are his loving wife of sixty eight years Elizabeth (Gold) Rappaport , his son Harry (Karyl) Rappaport, his daughter Misha Rappaport, his five grandchildren, Ariel, Judah, Nicole, Danielle, and Margot and his four great grandchildren, Elijah, Isabella, Xavier, and Quinn.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday September 6th at 2:30 P.M. at Temple Israel - Riverside Cemetery in Conklin NY. Rabbi Tziona Szajman will officiate. The family will hold Shiva at the family home Tuesday and Wednesday from 4:30 to 6:30 P.M. with Shiva Minion at 5:30 both days. Those wishing may direct memorial donations in Josephs’ name to Temple Israel 4737 Deerfield Place, Vestal, NY 13850.
