Julia Lee (Battle) Miller

Miller, Julia Lee BattleJulia Lee Battle Miller of Endicott, NY, dedicated daughter, devoted wife, and caring mother passed away suddenly on Tuesday, January 21st, 2014 at the age of 76. She will be remembered by the community for her commitment to education and community service with Alpha Kappa Alpha, WSKG, and her work at Binghamton University, where she was the director of Harpur Advising. She worked in Harpur Advising for more than twenty years. She is survived by her mother Evelyn; her brothers James and Michael; and sister-in law Doris. She is also survived by her sons Ben, Marc, and Douglass; daughters-in-law Christine and Cheryl; her grandson Lorcan and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband Benjamin T. Miller, her sister Cynthia Battle, and her father Jake Battle. Memorial services will be held at 6:00 pm on January 24, 2014, at Central United Methodist Church in Endicott, NY. Calling hours will be held before the service at 5:00pm. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Martha Fenty scholarship fund at Alpha Kappa Alpha, Upsilon Nu Omega Chapter PO BOX 3303, Binghamton, NY 13902 or to WSKG in Binghamton, NY. -Friends and Family may call at the Central Baptist Church 2200 Wylie Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA. on Thursday January 30, 2014 from 9:00 to 11:00 am . A Funeral Service will follow at the Church at 11:00 am. Internment will be in Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh, PA.
