Lorriece “Riecie” (Romig) Bascom

Lorriece Bascom, 77, of Binghamton went home to her Heavenly Father Sunday, June 30 surrounded by her loving family at home. She was reunited in death by her loving parents Theodore “Ted” and Barbara Romig, sister Roberta Sue “Bobbi” Morreale, best friend Carol Sipes, and her dog Maggie. 
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Deuel “Butch” Bascom, daughter Alicia Bascom, best friend Linda Breffle, her dog Dakoda, and grand-dog Elly. She is also survived by one nephew, three nieces and fifteen grand-nieces and nephews. 
She truly enjoyed working at Curcio Printing and retired in 2011 after over 20 years of service. She was a devoted wife and mother. She liked traveling on day and weekend trips to places such as Tioga Downs, Hershey Pennsylvania, and craft shows. When she wasn’t traveling, she enjoyed being at home with Butch and her dogs watching movies or TV. Her favorite TV shows were Ba Ba Black Sheep and most Westerns. She was a loyal Binghamton Baseball and Hockey fan, she held season tickets for the Binghamton Hockey Team for 49 years. She enjoyed going on bus trips to cheer on her home teams, her favorite away venue was in Hershey, Pennsylvania to the point she had season tickets in Hershey for 5 years. 
The family would like to thank Broome County Council of Churches: Faith in Action for their love and support and Lourde’s Hospice for the care she received. 
There will be a graveside service at Vestal Hills Memorial Park Monday, June 8th at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Broome County Council of Churches: Faith in Action or Lourdes Hospice.
