Lula M. Stratton

Lula M. Stratton, 91, of Binghamton, NY passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, August 3rd, 2015 at Bridgewater Rehabilitation Center, Binghamton. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward (Ed) G and Elizabeth G (Lizzie) (Moore) Stratton, and nephew Todd A Stratton. She is survived by her brother and wife, James C (Jim) and Marion L Stratton, beloved nephew Mark J Stratton, niece Karen M Stratton-Hergel, grandnephew Eric Hergel, grandnieces Ashleighanne and Morgan Stratton and Kirsten and Sarah Hergel, great-niece Isabella Mower, and great-nephew Todd Michael Lau, cousins Richard and Linda Dodge, Linda (Dodge) Morgia, Doug Dodge,  Rev. William (Bill) and Laura Dodge , and god-son Mark Smith.

Lula graduated from Binghamton City School of Nursing, receiving her BSN from Syracuse University, was in the US Army Nursing Corps as a Trainer in WWII, and was the Head School Nurse Teacher for the Binghamton Central School District. She was active in the Order of The Eastern Star and Zonta Club, served on the Board of Directors of The American Lung Association of Mid-NY. Lula was also a very active  member of Conklin Avenue 1st Baptist Church, participating in many activities and serving as a member of the board of elders. Lula touched many lives through the years, leaving many with life-long memories.

The family will receive friends at Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home, 71 Main St, Binghamton NY on Thursday August 6th from 4-7PM and again on Friday August 7 from 10-11AM The memorial service  will be on Friday at 11AM with the Rev. Bill Dodge officiating.  Interrment will follow the memorial service at Chenango Valley Cemetery, 120 Nolan Rd, Binghamton.

For those that would prefer, donations in Lula's memory  can be made to The American Lung Association, American Diabetes Association, The Alzheimer's Association or the charity of their choice.
