Mark W. Ackerman, 64, of Binghamton, passed away Saturday April 28th, 2018 at his home. Born in Binghamton, NY on December 20, 1953 the son of the Late Barbara L. (Wheeler) and John F. Ackerman, JR. Mark was a graduate of Scranton University, where he earned his degree in Business. Mark owned and operated Casey’s, now the Rustic Tavern in Binghamton. He also was a lifetime member of the Skate Creek Hunting Club. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was very witty. Mark enjoyed playing Blackjack, known as a great writer, a history buff, and a music aficionado. Surviving Mark are his fiancée Bonnie Silverio, his daughter Kelsey Ackerman, his sisters and brothers; Sandra Klinger, Laurie Ackerman, Glenn (Jennifer) Ackerman, and Robert (Michele) Ackerman. Also surviving Mark are his step children and their children; Mark (Jamie) Silverio, children Mikayla and Riley, Anthony (Jennifer) Silverio, children, Aiden and Ethan, Joseph (Amanda) Silverio, son Ricky and Emily Silverio also his nieces and nephews Kyle, Meghan, Connor, and Lyndsey, as well as special family friend Donna Ackerman. Mark will be terribly missed by his feline friend “Miss Kitty”. Family and friends are invited to call Wednesday, May 2nd from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Ernest H.
