Morris Goodman, MD., 88, died peacefully on Thursday, December 9th, 2010 at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Morris was born on Winding Way in Binghamton on November 25th 1922. He graduated from Binghamton Central High School in 1940, Cornell University in 1946 and the University of Rochester Medical School in 1950. He served as a U.S. Army Medic in the Pacific Theater in World War II , and received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star each with Oak leaf Clusters. After Medical School , Morris completed a rotating internship at Wilson Memorial Hospital a Pediatric Residency in Syracuse , and at Beth-El Hospital in Brooklyn, NY. While at Beth-El, he met a beautiful young nurse named Lillian Goldman. They married in February 1953 and were together for forty years until Lillian's death in March of 1993. Morris practiced pediatrics in the Binghamton area for many years and was known to generations of his young patients as "Dr. Morrie". He was a kind and dedicated physician , a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Morris is survived by his sons: Philip, Binghamton, NY., Edward (Ennio), Corrales, NM, his daughter Janis (Frank) Sacks, Lincolnwood, IL, two grandchildren, Lia and Jesse Sacks also of Lincolnwood, IL.

Funeral Services will be held Sunday December 12, at 1: 00 p.m. at Temple Israel 4737 Deerfield Place Vestal, NY Internment will follow at Temple Israel- Riverside Cemetery Conklin, NY. The family will be observing Shiva Sunday December 12, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday December 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The River House 38 Front Street Binghamton NY. Those wishing may direct memorial donations in Morris's name to the Broome County Humane Society 2 Jackson Street, Binghamton NY, 13905.
