Sonya Delores Lennon

Sonya Delores Lennon, went to be with the Lord at 8:45 p.m. on November 26, 2012 at Wilson memorial Hospital, in Johnson City, New York.

Sonya was born in New York City in 1932.  She was predeceased by her parents, John and Thelma Chapman, her husband, Justin Barton, all of Binghamton, her four brothers, Dr. John Chapman, Ronald, Benjamin and Michael Chapman.

She leaves behind her sons, Anthony Barton of Vestal,and David Barton-Pickett , of Johnson City; her grandchildren: Candace, Jeremy,Jayson, Iyanna, Lindsey, Caleb, Damira, Mythias, Giada; her great grandchildren:Tyrell, Janay,Justice, Giana, Devine, and Angel; her great great grandchildren:Tyhira, Namique, Jayhel,and Jahliel. She is also survived by her sisters, Carol Chick, of Clarksville, Tennessee, and Diane Chapman, of Binghamton, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves behind her special friends, Midge and Les Isaak and Amy Toner.

Sonya retired from I.B.M. Corporation where she worked in the Education Department She enjoyed crossword puzzles, painting, and gardening.

Viewing will be at the Ernest H. Parsons Funeral Home 71 Main Street, Binghamton, NY on Friday, November 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday December 1st at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Greg Johnson officiating. Internment will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park , Vestal  NY at the convenience of the family.
