Steven Mark Stein

Steven M. Stein of Vestal NY passed away on Friday May 27, 2016.  Born in Philadelphia PA, Steve moved to the Binghamton area in 1960 with his wife Francine.  Steve is a graduate of Becker College and Rider University.  After completing his marketing degree at Rider, he joined E.J. Korvette in a management role.  He joined The Philadelphia Sales Company in 1960 where he rose to become Owner and President.  

Steve co-founded the local chapter of USA Dance Club in 1995 with Francine, danced on its Ballroom Formation Team for 20 years and assisted with dance instruction.  Steve volunteered as head of the Temple Israel Cemetery  for over 30 years and was a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America where he served as Treasurer of the Iroquois Region.

The family expresses its deepest gratitude for all of those who compassionately cared for Steve especially the staff at Yesteryears, Elizabeth Church Manor and Lourdes Hospital as well as Frank Leone, Hugh Simpson, Rosalind Cull and Matt Pruitt.

Steve is survived by his wife Francine, his children Kevin Stein of Chevy Chase Maryland, Seena Boyle of Macungie Pennsylvania, Casey Stein of Vestal New York and Dilcy Benn of New York City as well his grandchildren Arielle, Alana, Jeremy, Izzy, Aubrey, Nina. Also his brother-in-law Dr. Gene Ginsberg.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at Temple Concord, 9 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY.  The family will receive friends in the Temple Library from 12–1PM.  The funeral service will be held at 1PM in the Temple Sanctuary.  Internment to follow at Temple Israel-Riverside Cemetery, Conklin, NY.  Those wishing may direct memorial donations in the name of Steve Stein to American Diabetes Association and the Alzheimer's Association, Central New York Chapter.
